The following campaign aims to raise money to buy 105 sewing machines for the women at Sambhali Trust. Two years ago whilst working at Sambhlai I was lucky enough to assist setting up this campaign and saw first hand how this unique initiative provides these women with an opportunity to make their OWN decisions become financially independent.
So please, have a read of some more information below and any small donation would be very much appreciated.
'Sambhali Trust’s empowerment centers offer a year of vocational training in sewing, clothing manufacturing, embroidery and block-printing to underprivileged women in Rajasthan, India. Seven empowerment projects teach women these skills at no cost to them. These women gain financial independence through the tactical skills they learn. This income allows them to afford education, medical help and other essentials to maintain a healthy lifestyle for their families.
To amplify this effect we provide sewing machines for all graduates of the program. We will continue to provide support through job resources, sewing materials and scholarships for their children. In the decade since the project debuted, over 300 women have graduated and received sewing machines to launch a successful future.'
